THE TASTE OF A SAVED LAND
This is the last project started by Carlos Esteva. This old, forgotten about neighbour of Can Ràfols was about to be turned into a quarry for cement production. To stop what would have been a disaster for the region and not to mention a threat to the beautiful landscape and the environment, Esteva finally bought the land where 40 hectares of 80 year old vines grows – these vines produce some exceptional wines, with strong mineral notes that come from this chalky land.
